Trailblazers Chuck Blanton and Jody Vasquez began accelerating answers in 1982 when they started OGsys with the lofty goal of developing a quality oil and gas accounting software solution that would provide quick and accurate information. At that time, most oil and gas companies sent their data to an outside service bureau or they were forced to crunch numbers manually - a very time consuming and cumbersome process. Chuck and Jody's early development work coincided with major milestones in the evolution of modern computer technology, most notably the birth of the personal computer. As such, OGsys became the first company to develop a quality oil and gas accounting application for the PC.

The pioneering continued as OGsys transitioned from a single-user platform to a multi-user platform.  During this phase, OGsys worked closely with its clients to constantly improve and enhance the software. By 1986, when the nation's recession had pushed many of its competitors out of business, OGsys was going strong - thanks to a stable and loyal client base.

Still, OGsys continued to push the envelope and, in 1994, began the daunting task of developing an application for the Windows® platform. Their team of international developers spent the next three years creating what would become the first Windows-based oil and gas accounting software application - OGwin.

OGwin became the gold standard in oil and gas accounting software for the next decade, but OGsys didn't rest on its laurels. By 2004, Chuck and Jody were again looking to the future and saw the need for a new platform that would provide quicker and more efficient answers for oil and gas managers. Specifically, they were looking for more flexible reporting and the ability to customize interfaces with other quality products. Their solution came in the form of today's OGsql product - the industry's most flexible and comprehensive accounting application.

Throughout its history, OGsys has continuously evolved its products, services and vision. Like other great pioneers, Chuck and Jody are heading into OGsys' third decade with plans for more software enhancements, innovative partnerships, better service/support options and improved client forums. OGsys looks forward to helping their clients by accelerating answers today and in the years to come.
